|DESCRIPTION||The Jamming Avoidance Response of the weakly electric fish, Eigenmannia virescens. When one individual fish with an electric discharge of 400 Hz meets a second individual with the same frequency, one fish shifts its frequency upward while the other shifts its frequency downward. This behavior prevents the electrolocation abilities of both fish from being jammed.|
